LEARNING PHONICS

Today we learned Phonics for the first time. It was really interesting and we had a lot of fun playing with the three first sounds: a, s, t. 

To learn Letter "a" sound we pretended to eat an APPLE. Then we listened to this song below and we did the action: "We had ants on our arms!". 

To learn Letter "s" sound we pretended to be a SNAKE. We listened to the following song and we did the action: "Our arm was a snake!". 

To learn Letter "t" sound we pretended to be a TIGER. Also we noticed that tennis started with "ttt" sound, so we sang this song about tennis and we did the action: "We played tennis!". 

When we knew those three first letter sounds, we tried to recognize them playing with torches, we turned out the lights and we pointed to the specific sound that the teacher said, they were written on three mini special whiteboards on the blackboard.  It was very fun!

To conclude the lesson, we wrote the letter sounds following the instructions of the teacher, and from a word (as for example: sat, at, as) we read them one by one (segmenting), to be able at the end to read a complete word (blending).
